      PreS-Gr 1-In the same vein as ABDO's other animal and pet series aimed at the very young, these books briefly describe their subject: physical appearance, names for male and female animals, sounds they make, what they eat, and why they are useful to humans. Bright, eye-catching photographs support the text well, and snazzy page borders add to their appeal.
