      These plotless stories about a boy and his pet dragon feature a smattering of seasonal activities and allude to some holidays (all Christian) that occur in each season. The writing is stilted and awkward, though the controlled vocabulary and few lines per spread may boost reading confidence. Clean, bright illustrations provide comprehension support. National Reading Panel-inspired end-of-book activities extend instruction.
